Electrician Journeyman II | Dow Corning Corporation | Carrollton, KY
Since 1966, the Carrollton, KY Dow Corning site has become one of the
world's largest silicone production plants in the country. We make
chlorosilanes and silicones that go into products you use every day like
sealants, polishes, lotions, and antiperspirants.
The Electrician Journeyman II maintains the site electrical equipment,
performs preventive maintenance tasks and completes work requests in
SAP, including but not limited to recording technical findings.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Complete installation and check-out of plant electrical equipment.
- Assist in start-up of new installations.
- Assist Manufacturing and Engineering on electrical related issues
including design of new installations.
- Assure completion of proper documentation including mark-ups.
- Assist in stocking spare parts and equipment including following
inventory control procedures.
- Continuation of skill development via formal training, self -study,
and on the job training.
- Assist in the development and training of newer employees.
- Attend all safety meetings, practice safe work habits and good
housekeeping.
- Participate in the continual improvement process with focus on the key
elements for a world-class manufacturing facility.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge, Abilities, Skills:
- Must be able to demonstrate proper use and maintenance of electrical
test equipment used on site.
- Must be available for overtime and emergency call-ins as required by
site priorities.
- Must comply with all applicable Federal, State and Corporate
environmental, health, safety, security, and quality regulations.
- Must demonstrate good manual dexterity and be able to work comfortably
in high places.
- Display no symptoms of color blindness.
- Must be able to climb stairs and catwalks, to work in awkward
positions, work in inclement weather, and to lift moderately heavy
objects.
- Exhibit good communication skills and possess basic computer
knowledge.
- Must work well with others, and maintain a safe and positive work
environment.
Education & Experience:
- Journeyman Electrician License
- Minimum of six years experience working as an industrial electrician
- SAP knowledge desireable
