Instrumentation Journeyperson II | Dow Corning Corporation | Carrollton, KY
Since 1966, the Carrollton, KY Dow Corning site has become one of the
world's largest silicone production plants in the country. We make
chlorosilanes and silicones that go into products you use every day like
sealants, polishes, lotions, and antiperspirants.
The Instrumentation Journeyman II maintains plant instrumentation,
performs preventative maintenance tasks and completes work requests.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform calibrations per proper procedures.
- Monitor installation and checkout of plant instrumentation.
- Assist in start-up of new installations.
- Assist Manufacturing and Engineering on instrument related issues.
- Assure completion of proper documentation.
- Exhibit proper use and maintenance of test equipment.
- Assist in stocking spare equipment and parts.
- Develop skills via formal training and self-study.
- Assist in the development and training of newer employees.
- Be available for overtime and emergency call -ins.
- Attend all safety meetings and adhere to all safety standards and good
housekeeping practices.
- Comply with all applicable Federal, State, and Corporate
environmental, safety and health regulations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Must have good manual dexterity.
- Must be able to work comfortably in high places, able to climb stairs
and catwalks, and work in awkward positions.
- Exhibit no symptoms of color blindness.
- Must be able to work in inclement weather.
- Must be able to lift 40 - 50 lbs.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum 6 years experience working as an industrial iinstrumentation
technician.
- Journeyman Electrician license desirable.
- International Society of Automation (ISA) certification desirable.
