Manager, Electrical | MSKCC | New York, NY Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is a world renowned organization dedicated to the progressive control and cure of cancer through programs of patient care, research, and education. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the administrative and technical activities of the electric shop, a 24/7 environment. This includes managing a team of 20+ employees, while ensuring that the operations are efficient, effective and provide quality service. Specific responsibilities include collaborating across the facilities division to plan and manage projects, including the preparation of cost estimates and coordinating annual maintenance of low and high voltage equipment; ensuring compliance with institutional/departmental policies, procedures, quality standards (JCAHO, OSHA, DEP, DEC); and managing the electrical transmission and distribution systems, including maintenance, operations, upgrades, expansion , and alternate emergency power. You will also be directly involved with all construction and architectural firms relating to the review, approval and implementation of plans and specifications that pertain to installation, alteration and modification of the electrical systems and emergency power sources. JOB REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate must have a High School diploma; a BSEE degree is preferred, along with 5+ years related work experience. Demonstrated leadership experience, a Master Electrician license and the ability to obtain a Special license is also required. Knowledge of city electrical codes and experience operating specialized machinery is a must. Excellent computer, math, written and oral communication skills are essential.
